See that is the problem, a player should not "relish" playing in the state game. A player should "relish" winning the state game. Being someone that has won 2 back to back, i know what it feels like to play.... But who the hell cares if you don't win? I could not admagine losing state once... much less 3 times.
I know what you are trying to say with this post, but it goes back to my theory of giving all the kids trophys "just for playing" it grays the line between winning and losing. Society give's "little johnny" a pat on the back and a smaller trophy just for getting to the championship game. In all reality the runner up to the championship game is no different then all the other teams that did not make it right?

It dose take alot of things to win a state game. A good team, a good game plan, a lot of dedication, and most of all exacution. Luck really has nothing to do with it, when you get there you are suspose to be the best 2 teams in the state not the luckiest.

I mean the correct way to give credit to JIB is they have had some succsess over the past couple years... over-all record is 39-7 over the past 4 years, they have won the LPD 2 times, shared once, and Region D division 1 champs 3 times. (but I mean you could put PV/APPYS/GCs old stuff in writing like that and it'd make that look like childs play) (correct me if im wrong about burtons wins/Ls other stuff) THATS ALLRIGHT-good for you burton.
But it seems to me all you Burton fans can ever say is "we lost state...and your team was at the house!!"
Region D div 1 champs 03-06. Hell I'll take being runner up, sure beat's 20 years ago when we were going 1-9 and all we could say is we beat JJ Kelly.

Keep on smokin that good weed man. Heck Gate City won the region from 1999-2003 and played in a many a good game and got some great travel time in. But do you know what? From 99-02 all I had was a shi&&y taste in my mouth. The ONLY one that mattered in the end was bringing the GOLD home in 03.
That reminds me. I've always wondered why on GC`s pressbox it has AA champions for 03 as well.
Because we want to trick people into thinking that we won the AA title in 03', because that makes it look better.

To tell you the truth, I've never noticed it. But it's not like a little paint wouldn't fix it [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] I'll remember to look at it next week.
